Mecánica Pendular (Pendular Mechanics) is an idea that came to me after visiting Luis Hernandez's workshop, a master watchmaker. In this piece I use the concept of synchronicity developed by psichoanalyst C.G. Jung. Jung proposed that coincidences are actually a series of mehcanisms - mechanisms that work like gears made of our own psychic energy that create unusual and unsuspecting encounters. The piece is composed of two series of Japanese ink drawings on paper and a video installation.
